Zero Tolerance for Illegal Fireworks

The City has a zero tolerance for illegal fireworks but allows the sale of legal fireworks with the California Fire Marshal’s “Safe and Sane” seal. Legal fireworks can be purchased from June 28th to July 4th. Illegal fireworks include those bought out of state, online, or from unauthorized sources.

Illegal fireworks that launch into the air, move across the ground, or explode will result in a $1,000 fine and/or arrest.

City of Rosemead's Rules:

  • Zero Tolerance: Firm stance against illegal fireworks
  • Strict Fines: Fines start at $1,000 (RMC Chapter 8.28.110 - Fireworks)
  • Property Owners Responsible: for illegal fireworks on their property
  • Prohibited Locations: No fireworks in City parks
  • Age Limit: Possession prohibited for under 18
  • Adult Supervision: Required for “Safe and Sane” fireworks
  • Permitted Dates: July 3rd and July 4th, 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Help keep everyone safe by reporting illegal firework activity here or call Code Enforcement Division at (626) 569-2129. All reports are anonymous.

At 10:00 a.m., celebrate with us at the Independence Parade on Friday, July 4th along Valley Boulevard. At 12:00 p.m., join us at Rosemead Park for fun activities, rides, food, and fireworks. The fireworks show will begin at dusk.
