City of Rosemead announces launch of affordable on-demand
transit program, Rosemead Go, to expand transportation access
The City of Rosemead is excited to announce the launch of Rosemead Go, a new microtransit program that allows anyone in Rosemead to book an on-demand shared ride for a $1 or less for eligible riders.
The Rosemead Go public ribbon-cutting event will be held at:
Rosemead City Hall
8838 Valley Blvd
Rosemead, CA 91770
Tuesday, July 15, 2025
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Duration: 1 hour
Rosemead Go officially went live on July 1 and is offering everyone their first ten rides for free until October 1. The app will be available in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Vietnamese. The introduction of Rosemead Go reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to providing Rosemead residents with first-class amenities and public services that make it the best place to live, work, and play.
The Rosemead Go fleet consists entirely of zero-emission electric vehicles, reflecting the City’s dedication to sustainability and improving local air quality.
How does it work?
Rosemead Go is powered and operated by TransitTech provider Via, which runs several similar and successful programs across the U.S. and in the Greater Los Angeles area – including those in Torrance, West Covina, and Monterey Park. Via’s intelligent algorithms match riders headed in the same direction into one vehicle, and directs them to “virtual bus stops” at a corner nearest to their pickup and drop-off – creating quick and efficient shared trips for everyone.
Booking, hours, and fare information:
- Residents can book a ride through the Rosemead Go app (available in the App Store and Google Play) or by calling (626) 572-4099. Riders can travel anywhere within the service zone on the map (seen below).
- Service is available 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. 7 days a week. Rosemead Go Plus rider trips are based on a first come, first served pre-booking scheduling model. Rosemead Go trips are entirely on-demand and based on vehicle availability.
- Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available.
- Please note: Seniors and people with disabilities are eligible to apply for the Rosemead Go Plus program, which features door-to-door service. Rider fare is discounted to 50 cents per trip, and will provide rides within a 5-mile radius of Rosemead.
Mayor Clark expressed excitement about Rosemead Go, stating, “This innovative, low-cost, and convenient transportation program demonstrates Rosemead’s desire to ensure our residents can always reach the opportunities that matter most – whether that is work, school, healthcare, shopping, or seeing friends and family.”
