SolarApp+ Submittals

The City of Rosemead has partnered with SolarAPP+ to streamline the permit process for eligible small solar projects by allowing online submittals. SolarAPP+ is a web-based portal for residential solar energy system installations, developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

SolarAPP+ is designed to provide a code-compliance check for the majority of residential, roof-mounted, retrofit photovoltaic systems. SolarAPP+ users must be a licensed contractor and must be added to the SolarAPP+ program eligibility list prior to submission to the City.

SolarAPP+ Process:

1. SUBMIT FOR AUTOMATED REVIEW THROUGH SOLARAPP+
   
   • To start using SolarAPP+, register and submit your design through the SolarAPP+ Webpage
   • A $35 processing fee (subject to change) will be charged by SolarAPP+.
   • Download the approved plans.
2. APPLY FOR CITY OF ROSEMEAD PERMIT:
   • Email your permit from Solarapp+ and the checklist to buildinginfo@rosemeadca.gov along with the City of Rosemead permit application.
   • Once processed, return the signed permit to Building Division at buildinginfo@rosemeadca.gov .
3. SCHEDULE THE INSPECTION ONLINE:
   • Schedule an inspection with the City of Rosemead.
