Dog License
Licensing Laws
All dogs over the age of four (4) months in the City of Rosemead are required to have and wear a current license tag. Your pet's license is proof of its valid rabies vaccination, as well as its best chance to get safely home if it is lost.
Purchase a License
The City of Rosemead has partnered with DocuPet to provide an enhanced pet licensing experience for residents. Your pet’s license now includes DocuPet’s free HomeSafe™ 24/7 lost pet service and the option to upgrade to designer license tag styles with personalization options. Additionally, 20% of every designer tag sale is donated to Volunteers in Defense of Animals (VIDA Rescue) through DocuPet’s Safe & Happy Fund. The new, easy-to-use online licensing service provides a quick and seamless way to license your pet from the comfort of your own home.
Pet licenses can now be purchased online here, by mail, over the phone or in person. To complete the licensing process, you will need a copy of the following records-
● Your pet’s current rabies vaccination certificate.
● Proof of sterilization (spay or neuter)
If your pet has been spayed or neutered, you may license at a reduced rate by providing proof of alteration. Pet owners over the age of 60 may license their pets at a reduced rate by providing proof of their age. All license renewals must be accompanied by renewal notice.
Fees
$33.00 Male or Female
$20.00 Spayed or neutered with certificate
$8.00 Spayed or neutered dog owned by senior citizen (60 years old or older)
$22.00 Late fee after 30 days of expired license.
